Workshop on everyday sound

In week 44 Trond Lossius gave a workshop to master students in arts at the University of Agder in Kristiansand. The workshop was an introduction to working with sound in cross-disciplinary contexts.

Workshop: Surround sound and ambisonics

Sourround sound is used for music, film production, games, video, sound installations and in sound design for stage. This workshop provides a practical and creative introduction to the topic for beginners, with a particular emphasis on using Ambisonics in the REAPER DAW.

The workshop is led by Trond Lossius and is a collaboration between BEK and Lydgalleriet.

BEK Hacklab

Every Tuesday at 14:00-16:00, BEK hosts a weekly meetup aimed to form and support a community exploring the relationship between art and technology. All are welcome, artists, hackers, technologists, designers and others who wish to explore hacking and creation at BEK. Norwegian Music Tech Days 2015

Musikkteknologidagene 2015 is a national meeting and symposium for researchers, developers, educators, musicians and artists that work with music technology. This year it is hosted by the Music Conservatory at the University of Tromsø, in cooperation with Insomnia Festival. Trond Lossius represents BEK.

Workshop: Introduction to Max

BEK offers a one-week introductory workshop to the software Max. Max is an intuitive graphical environment for real-time processing of all kinds of media (sound, video, MIDI, light, sensors and robotics), and can be used for music, sound art, video, installations, works for stage and in interaction design. Instructor is Trond Lossius.

Workshop – La spatialisation sonore

Trond Lossius contributes to a workshop at SCRIME – Studio de Création et de Recherche en Informatique et Musique Electro-acoustique at Université de Bordeaux.

He will discuss his use of surround field recordings in his artistic practice, and share his aesthetically and practical experience working with such recordings.

Prospekt – en multimediainstalasjon

Før sommeren jobbet en super gjeng med ungdommer med skulptur, lyd, lys, video, animasjon, tegning, maling og elektronikk.
Sammen med kunstnerne Roar Sletteland og Kjersti Sletteland presenterte de en altoppslukende installasjon på Lydgalleriet 30. juni. BEK bisto med utstyr til workshop og visning.

Jamoma DSP developer workshop

In July five of the Jamoma developers met up for a one-week workshop at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. The workshop targeted further development and use of the C++ libraries.

ELO2015

The End(s) of Electronic Literature Conference will take place August 5-7, 2015, and is hosted by the Electronic Literature Research Group at the University of Bergen. Pre-conference workshops will take place on August 4th. BEK supports the conference with equipment.
