Loadbang: Spectral analysis and processing

For this weeks session on advanced topics in real-time processing of media, we will be looking Fast Fourier Transforms and spectral analysis and processing. Fourier Transforms can be used for analysis and processing of audio and image in the frequency domain.

loadbang is a collaboration between BEK and KHIB.

Signatur @ Avgarde

The Signatur youngsters will play a trigging consert at Avgarde on Saturday 8th of May. The event will take place in Tårnet at Bergen Art Museum. Last chance to add finishing touches to samples and costumes was on Saturday, 1th of May.

Introductory courses in videoediting and animation

Two basic two-day introduction courses at BEK. One in video editing, and the other in basic digital and stop-motion animation. Course leader is Marieke Verbiesen. Get in touch for more info and to sign up. There are still some places available on both courses.

loadbang: Maths for artists – Part II

We’ll continue where we left of last time, looking at maths, with a particular emphasis on functions and how they might be used for controlling algorithmic processes and for mapping of data.

Texiles as a sound affecting material – aesthetical inquiries

This workshop, headed by Margareta Zetterblom, Trond Lossius and Hilde Hauan Johnson, investigates possible relationships between textiles and sound. Textiles can shape stage and installation spaces cisually, at the same time as modifying the acoustic properties of the space.

loadbang: Using multi-touch interfaces

BEK introduce a new regular activity, loadbang, in collaboration with Bergen National Academy of the Arts.

At regular intervals wee will offer a meeting place for artists and students working on real-time processing of media using software such as Max, SuperCollider and Pd, for exchange and discussions on a number of advanced topics.

The first meeting will be focusing on the use of multi-touch interfaces.

AudioSpace – seminar

AudioSpace is a yearly seminar at KHiB about the relationships between sound, music and art. This year it will focus on the question of the instrument. Guests are artists who address this issue in different ways, from domestication of casette players to installations that perform, to text scores. Lecturers include Trond Lossius, Atle Selnes Nilsen, Pedro Gómez-Egaña, John Lely and Icaro Zorbar.

VisibleSound/AudibleImage is a workshop and performance series by Derek Holzer and Sara Kolster which focuses on the interrelation of sound and image.
