During a short talk, Esther Tuypens will discuss Apichaya Wanthiang’s exhibition Without Waiting for Her Reply in relation to her research on Aby Warburg. The talk will put forth some ideas concerning the installation as an object and producer of knowledge.
During a period of two months Anders Elsrud Hultgreen has been working and developing Evighetens Avkom, a video commisioned by BEK. This video has recently been shown for the first time at Stavanger Screen City, and now Anders will present his process and the work to us. The presentation will take place on 14.02 from 12h – 13h. We will serve soup! Welcome!
Rural Reading Room is a series of artistic situations aiming at re-configurating objects, materials and sounds, highlighting the materiality of the landscape. The format consists of a tabletop, where the arrangement of objects placed on the table reconstruct a fragmented, concrete and material landscape. BEK supported the project with equipment.

The object becomes the plane, the light will be given to the darkness, the silence reflects sound.
Overgangen, is an exploration of the distance between black and white, between light and darkness. We close ourselves in, in one of Bergen’s historic chambers and drape the windows.

Program:
The two artists behind The Sun-project will come to BEK and give an artist talk/presentation of the project. BEK will serve a basic and tasteful lunch.
The SUN is a glowing light sculpture, 3 m in diameter, that shifts between a wide range of warm colors.
Fulbright scolar Nathan Wolek, who has been working at BEK the last 5 months, gives a presentation focusing on “what I learned from my Fulbright”. The talk is a brief condition report on his work and experiences during his stay here in Bergen. Feel free to join us Thuesday 8th at 14:00.
