Welcome to presentations with Timo Hoogland, Mark van den Heuvel, Gerri Jaeger and Ideophone Records on Friday September 6 at 17.00! The first three are part of Loud Matter playing on Østre on Wednesday September 4, while Jiska Huizing and Rudi Valdersnes from Ideophone Records release their new album IDE002 the coming weekend.
Erin Sexton will be in residence at BEK September 2nd – 15th with her project Contingency Planning in collaboration with dance artist Yohei Hamada. Formatted as a 2-day workshop September 10th and 12th and exhibition/happening event September 13th, this is an open-structure exploration of sci-fi strategies, collective movement, and metaphysical sculpture.

We will be back from Summer holidays at BEK from August 5th, and will start the season off with Reality-based Audio Workshop at Struer Tracks, book presentation of “Elektrisk lyd i Norge” (“Electric Sound in Norway”) and concert, and a concert with Loud Matter at Østre.
This workshop will demonstrate how performed spatialisation of stereo sources, over a moderately sized loudspeaker array, can create a dynamic, immediate, versatile and immersive 3-D sound experience, enhancing the music for a concert audience. Anne Marthe Dyvi, Artistic Developer at BEK, is participating in Norwegian Arts Council’s conference Kultur over grenser (Culture Across Borders) Thursday January 24th. The conference is a meeting place for everyone who wants to learn more about international cultural collaborations, and who wants to develop a project and/or meet potential partners.
Thorolf Thuestad is a well-known and dear sound-maestro in the cultural field of Bergen. He will present his current research project at KMD, and show and share knowledge about robots, automation and the machines themselves. He will not come alone.
