Modality workshop at BEK

Modality is a network of electronic musicians and developers from six nations. They are gathered now 4 days in Bergen for updating and further development. The purpose is to improve the facilitation of artistic processes through coordinated programming and to share and develop new musical tools.

Instrument building workshop with Johannes Bergmark

Sunday 5 and Monday 6 May, Bergen Improstorband invites you to an instrument building workshop with Johannes Bergmark at BEK. The goal is to create your own instrument to use at concerts on Tuesday 7 May at the Library, Østre and Cafe Opera.

Nonlocality by Toril Johannessen, Oslo and Dusseldorf

The exhibition Nonlocality, which is actually two exhibitions, revolves around how time and place are variables that change according to technological and scientific developments. Conflicting ways of understanding the world and duality are underlying themes, and the two shows are twin exhibitions running parallel to each other. Technical solutions for one of the works, Mean Time, have been developed by freelancers in collaboration with BEK.

Studio Alog

This week the newly refreshed soundstudio at Bek (temporarily renamed “Studio Alog”), plays host to experimental band Alog, working on new material for an upcoming album on the Rune Grammofon label.
