Jeff Carey – Chop Chop

BEK has commisioned a music piece from american composer and musician Jeff Carey. This multichannel work is beeing developed in our production studio over a period from July to October. Chop Chop is performed as part of the Ekko Festival at Landmark 20. October.

Lydverkeri: Ole Hamre

Bergen International Festival’s opening ceremony at the Bergenhus Fortress will be coloured by Ole Hamre’s work Lydverkeri, a piece for boats- and city sounds. The technical solutions required has been developed and put into action at BEK.

Unruhige Räume at Journées Electriques

The composition Unruhige Räume by Bjørnar Habbestad/ Pascal Baltazar will be part of Journees Electriques in Albi. This is a joint commission by BEK and GMEA.

8-Bit Music Screening & Concerts at Landmark

On Saturday the 20th of March, BEK hosts an 8-Bit evening at Landmark. Including the screening of the documentairy “8 Bit”, Concerts by Glomag(USA) & Bubblyfish(USA), Atari-DJ Gw3m, VJ Hagenisse(NO) and Installation Tombraider 0.1

Don’t touch me, you don’t know where I’ve been

“Don’t touch me, you don’t know where I’ve been” was a commision from BEK for the composer Alwynne Pritchard. The work was premiered at Borealis 2008.

Victoria Johnsons Satelitt

“I’ve always imagined myself as a pilot of a space ship, flying through that musical universe, going wherever I want to go, encountering sounds in whatever order I choose, realizing a limitless variety of musical forms” -Joel Chadabe. The audiovisual installation “Satelitt” opens Friday at Lydgalleriet.

POW Ensemble presentation and concert

POW Ensemble played the Borealisfestival 2009 with electronic tap dancing. Now they are back in Bergen, this time with an electronic dissection of the guitar. In addition to the Landmark concert on Sunday, they will present their work and techniques at BEK on Monday 26. October

Golden Serenades at Bergen kunsthall

The Golden Serenades will perform a concert version of their sound installation at Bergen kunsthall. The installation was commissioned by BEK and shown at Lydgalleriet in 2008.

Celebrating Ketil Hvoslef

Avgarde celebrates the composer Ketil Hvoslef at 70 with a concert presenting excerpts from his oeuvre. Paintings by Line Hvoslef will provide a visual backdrop for the concert.

BEK has assisted Line Hvoslef in preparing the images for video screening.
