BEK and Bergen Public Library collaborates on development of Les HØYT!, an arena for reading aloud. Citizens of Bergen and users of the library will be invited to contribute towards a collective reading of litterature for an unknown audience by means of a digital installation. Reading activities will commence during the fall 2013. Stian Remvik has been hired by BEK to do the technical development. Les Høyt! is supported by National Library of Norway and Arts Council Norway.

Jamoma 0.5.7 has just been announced. This is the result of extensive development over the past year. Jamoma is a framework for structured modular programming in Max, offering rich possibilities for controlling modules and patches by means of mappings and cues, etc. In particular Jamoma has a lot to offer in terms of modules for sound spatialisation and work on musical gestures. BEKs conributions are to a large degree made possible by generous support from the County Council of Hordaland.

Saturday 16th February at 14.30 the exhibition Grøne sjøar og blått blod opens at Kabuso. The exhibition include Folgefonna as main focus. Artists Carl Martin Hansen, Glenn Erik Haugland and Heidi Tronsmo presents drifts through a wide variety of expressions. BEK has contributed to the videowork of Carl Martin Hansen.

On Thursday 14. February at 20:00 Elisabeth Færøy Lund do the performance Let’s Dance – the Valentine Blind Date. As part of the After School Special’s Live Screen Evening at Landmark, all performances will be streamed online from various places in and outside Bergen.

Ny Musikk Bergen explores some possible alternatives to the contemporary opera, which generally follows the same conventions as classical opera is based on. Through a collective experiment, Lohengrin by Salvatore Sciarrino is staged in an unconventional manner, stripped of romantic conservatism. BEK has contributed with production facilities, equipment, studio facilities and as a sparring partner.

Friday 11th at 15:00 Rona Rangsch present her new video installation at BEK. The work draws a connection between Norway and Newfoundland along the Norse trans-atlantic routes from around 1000 AD. Rona Rangsch is currently an Artist in Residence at USF Verftet. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Modality is a loose collaboration between both developers and users of SuperCollider, an environment and programming language for real time audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. In spring 2013 BEK will host a developer workshop. Prior to this, BEK contributes to a SuperCollider HID-update.
