GUISE is Benedicte Leinan Clementsen’s first solo exhibition, opening at Prosjektrom Normanns in Stavanger Friday 12.november. There she shows a 4-channel video installation about how we relate to our pets. The work was produced, using BEK’s equipment and was set up in collaboration with Stian Remvik (BEK) with the help of the Multiscreener software.

During the first three months of this year Dutch sound artist Tijs Ham has been collaborating with Bergen visual artist Birk Nygaard during a residency at USF Verftet supported by BEK. On the 26th of March, this collaboration will be premiered at Landmark alongside a performance by Zeno van den Broek presenting his new audiovisual piece Shift Symm. In the same weekend Jan Willem Hagenbeek from Ginkosynthese will host a workshop in Bergen Public Library.

How do we listen, and how do you compose when the audience is surrounded by sound? Borealis collaborates with the MULTI concert series to commission new works for multi-channel speaker setup, giving new musicians, composers and sound artists the opportunity to express themselves using spatial sound. MULTI is a collaboration between Lydgalleriet, NOTAM, Borealis, Electric Audio Unit and BEK.

The exhibition “Ultimo Scenario” at the old Children’s Clinic at Haukeland University Hospital, exhibits works by 15 artists which in their practices are concerned with situations and site specificity. The artists engage with themes like the building’s architectural history, materials found on the premises, sounds and images that connect to the site, and personal experiences as next of kin at the clinic.

ISPRANG is a composition of sound that transforms into light and activates a pattern of optical fibres. The installation uses the window towards the sea as a reverberating surface, so that parts of the sound can be heard from the square outside Visningsrommet. SPRANG can be experienced February 3rd – 19th at Visningsrommet USF, in a version made especially for this room. BEK has been consultant for the sound work, and the installation has been set up with BEK’s equipment.

Did you miss The Table Turns during Oktoberdans 2016, or want to see the performance again? On January 28 og 19 you have the chance to see it at Wrap! Karen Eide Bøen and Roar Sletteland have created a dance performance for four turntables and a dancer, where they examine the relationship between body, sound, turntables and room. The Table Turns is about freedom and power on the dance floor. It’s about LPs, stored movement, solidified vibrations and sound that revived matter.
